Burkina Faso ranks 134th out of 137 countries on the poverty scale and the maternal and child mortality rates are among the highest in the world. The literacy rate is approximately 30% and few children attend school past 6th grade. In the village of Konkourona, there are approximately 3000 residents.

Who We Are
Konkourona Alliance Foundation (KAFO), Inc. was created to help break the cycle of poverty in this one small village. KAFO aims to bring new hope and opportunities to the people living in Konkourona, Burkina Faso through access to education, healthcare, water and sanitation in our First Mile Community Development Program (FMCDP) as a proof of concept.
